The Big Bread Experiment
Synopsis
Can bread really re-unite a community? This social experiment aims to find out. The hope is that a baking group and the launch of a community bakery can brink community spirit back to a town. The advent of the supermarket – and sliced bread, packed with preservatives to make it last has led to the demise of local mills & bakeries. The bread group aims to use locally sourced stoneground flour, from a local mill undergoing a renovation – and launch a community bakery. The series follows their inspirational journey, which has a profound impact on all involved. We discover that bread does have the power to shape and connect people.
